Elected officials in Seattle are pushing to enact a 20 cent-per-bag tax on plastic bags. The new tax is estimated to generate over $10 MILLION annually for the city.
One of the given uses for the money......education, infrastructure improvement, greater police or fire coverage maybe.........nope.
Much of the money will go towards paying for the administration and enforcement of the tax plan! These people keep getting elected...come on!

Criminalizing Thought
Congressional Democrats are stalling a defense bill by adding language to it that would criminalize the thoughts of criminals while they are in the act of visiting violence upon homosexuals. Presumably, the punishments handed out against these "types" of criminals would carry more severe consequences.
Can I get a law passed that imposes more severe consequences against hurting white people....like me? Isn't all violence hateful?
Even if the President vetoes the bill, I'll bet the Democrats running for office will pull in a few more of the 'homosexual vote'.
Check it out for yourself-

Who Is The Worst Teacher in America?

There is an anti-union group based in Washington DC that is setting its sights on the National Education Association (NEA), the union that 'protects' the nation's government educators. Of course, most of America refers to these schools as "public schools" instead of the more accurate term, government schools.
Why is that I wonder....maybe because only evil Communist governments indoctrinate their citizens, not free Republics like America.....
The Center for Union Facts is offering $10,000 as a severance package for the top 10 WORST educators in America to resign!!
The fact is that unions hold employer's jobs hostage by lobbying legislation that has made it virtually impossible to fire a worker who performs in a substandard manner. It doesn't matter to the unions if the employee doesn't contribute to the company enough to earn what wages he is being paid. God forbid that a union employee receive a deserved reduction in pay.
The job does not belong to the employee, but to the employer that hires the employee.
It's also interesting that union dues are tied to minimum wage increases..as wages go up, so do union dues. Take a guess who lobbies the hardest for minimum wage increases.....you guessed it. The unions.
The was definitely a time for unions in the American work place....but that time is past with the relatively competitive market that we now have.
Read about the NEA and the Center for Union Facts...decide for yourself.

Democrat Controlled Congress Makes the Government Bigger
The House of Representatives have voted to create the Office of Congress Ethics. Ostensibly, it will be a non-partisan, unaffiliated group of six people who are appointed by the very Congressman they are supposed to have oversight on.
The new office will be responsible for investigating impropriety by Congress members and report to the House Ethics Committee. The measure passed 229-182, with the majority of Republicans voting against it.
In summary, the Government is bigger and a new cost has been added because the politicians that we elect to represent us cannot police their own......or at the very least 'do the right thing'.

345 Billion Reasons to Pass the Fair Tax
If ever there was a reason to turn away from an income based tax system, it is the report from the IRS saying that the 'tax gap', what is being collected versus what should be collected, has grown to $345,000,000,000. That's BILLION.
As long as we are being taxed on our income, there are going to be those who find ways around the government taking what we earn. That means that those of us who pay our taxes will be picking up the slack.
Switching to a consumption based tax system, like the Fair Tax, will eliminate not only the lost revenue due to loopholes, but also eliminate the costs of prosecuting those who cheat. (the end of the IRS!)Of course, that would mean that Congress, elected by us, would have to voluntarily give up one of their few Constitutionally granted powers.

Back Online
OK, after a long break, we are back on the web. We will continue to point out outrageous government actions and abuses of the tax system, and occasional interesting factoids. In the midst of the ongoing election year, there should be no shortage of information out there waiting to be disseminated......we should have fun. More to follow......

D-Day For Bank of America
Today is the day, March 10th.
Operation Bankrupt, a project of the FIRE Coalition, is a national drive started to punish Bank of American for giving credit cards to illegal immigrants, making it easier for them to live and stay in our country.
The drive calls for anyone who has a Bank of America account, to close it today. The hopes are that Bank of America feels the collective sting of thousands of account closing forever by legal American residents and discontinues the program. In addition to Bank of America, they also calling for action against Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual
Aiding and abetting illegal aliens is a felony under federal law, Section 8 USC 1324 (a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii).

Expanding the Welfare State
Congress is going to hold hearings about "unfair" practices perpetrated by credit card companies. In effect, people are complaining that they are being charged fees when they pay their bills late or do not pay the full minimum due. They are also complaining that when they have been late in payment, their interest rates have been increased, with the credit card companies saying they are high risk.
Out of all of the complaints, the credit cards companies have been found to be within the law. One complainer, got into trouble with his card, was put into a high risk interest rate, and hit with over-limit charges when his account went over-limit. He complained to politicians, and the card issuer waived the remainder of his account.
Apparently, if you charge your way into debt, complain to the government. After all, it's the credit card company that keeping you in debt, even when you keep using it.
Should elected politcians really be getting involved in private financial matters??

Read What Islamic Law Does For You
A Saudi Arabian judge sentenced a woman who was raped 14 times by 7 men to 90 lashes for being with men who were not her relatives.
This is the big kingdom that everyone thinks is one of our biggest allies in the Middle East. It might be time for Americans to wake up and realize that it is the muslims who are rallying around the world and yelling for the muslim domination of the West, and want Islamic Law imposed upon us.

New Documentary About Michael Moore
There is a documentary film being released Saturday at the Texas Film Festival called "Manufacturing Dissent."
It was made by two liberal Canadians who started out looking to make a film that celebrated Moore. Instead, they became so disillusioned by his behavior, that they ended up making a film that is critical of his hypocrisy.

Whatever Happened to the Bush Doctrine?
On September 20, 2001 President Bush delivered a speech to both houses of Congress, just 9 days after the attack on our country by Islamic extremists. He spoke of many things, including the course of action the United States would be taking in the prosecution of world terrorists. The President's words inspired the country, and brought together the two dominant political parties that controlled the government. In part, he said:
"We will starve terrorists of funding..." Bush recently asked for $83 MILLION to give to the palestinian authority, even after the aggression out of Gaza that resulted in the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier and subsequent military action to recover him, and the past decades of terrorist action against the state of Israel.
"And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism." Aside from fronts opened in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a small role in Ethiopia's offensive on muslims bent on government control in neighboring Somalia, the United States has not undertaken any prominent action against known terrorist havens around the world. While I'm sure there are covert actions that have been executed, it is past time the we stood in front of the world and said loud and clear, "WE DID THAT", and that we will do it to you to if you continue to harbor those that would hurt Americans.
"From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime." North Korea is one-third of the 'Axis of Evil' declared by Bush, but we are negotiating with their leaders and considering their demands just to do so. The palestinian Hamas is a declared terrorists organization, but the President is still negotiating with them after all of these years. Everyone on the ground in Iraq knows that Iran, another third of the 'Axis of Evil', is supporting the terrorists in the south of Iraq. Yet we still sit by and watch them cross the borders and pursue a weaponized nuclear program. This is setting the precedent of how the United States treats a "hostile regime."
While I agree with President Bush more than I disagree with him, he has lost the momentum over the last few years. What could have been an aggressive worldwide campaign against terrorists has been reduced to squabbling between politicians trying to get re-elected. We need to make the consequences of hurting Americans so horrible to contemplate that attacking an American becomes unthinkable.

$1.5 BILLION of Your Taxes Are Going to Fix Old Televisions!
Welcome to tax season. While you are thinking about deductions, itemizing, and returns give this some thought. In 2005 Congress quietly set aside $1.5 BILLION to cover the cost of converter boxes for soon to be out of date television sets. That's where part of the taxes you pay this year will go.
From the beginning, television broadcasts have been sent using analog technology. We're talking about non cable and satellite channels here. Starting in the year 2009, all broadcasts are going to be sent out using digital television technology. If you are using a TV that only receives analog transmissions, then you will not be able to view TV after the change over without a converter box.
The plan legislated by Congress will give two $40 voucher to eligible households, good towards a converter box. The US Commerce Department had planned on only allowing households without cable or satellite service be eligible for the vouchers.
Representative John Dingell, (D-Mich), criticized the plan saying it "disadvantages the poor, elderly, minority groups and those with multiple analog television sets in their homes." So he want to expand the program and set aside even more than the $1.5 BILLION already set aside. Folks with multiple TV sets in their homes are "poor"??? I only have one in mine. "Disadvantages....."?!? Go cut a yard and earn the money it will take for you to get a converter. Noone gave me the money when I bought a TV that is already capatable.
Dingell went further to say that people deserve a "government backed plan...." Last I knew there is no right to TV. Maybe we should all apply for lost costs to upgrade from vinyl albums and BETA vhs tapes. If your TV is that old that it will not receive digital broadcasts, it probably isn't even worth the $80 in voucher the government will hand you. See if your neighbor down the road tells you thanks!
Again, this is not the kind of responsible legislation we should expect from elected officials, and it certainly doesn't make much sense for America. I guess we really don't have that much else more important they should be doing.

Democrats' New Plan for Special Forces
The Democrats gained the majority of seats in Congress in the past year, and have published their New Direction for America. It's a document that lays out their plan for making America "better."
While it's largely all party line material, there is one line that has quietly slipped by much of America, and it displays the depth of the lack of understanding many politicians have concerning our military. It's the third line of the first bullet in their New Direction:
"Double the size of Special Forces to destroy Osama Bin Laden and terrorist networks like al Qaeda."
Double the size of the Special Forces?? They obviously have no idea how unrealistic that goal is. It's hard enough to fill the current slots for men like that. Just by doubling the gene pool of potential SF candidates, you would inherently lower the standard. Quite honestly, there are just not enough of those kind of men out there. And of the ones that are out there, not all of them attend SF selection.
The 'special' part of Special Forces comes from their training, and you must attract men that want to excel under very hard standards. Not all soldiers want to do that, and simply by lowering the standards you will not gain the kind of soldiers that will make for an effective Special Forces.
see what else we're in for with the New Direction: http://www.speaker.gov/pdf/thebook.pdf

Useless Legslation by Florida Demcrat
Much like the non-binding resolution that failed in the Senate anyway, a Democrat from Florida is pushing legislation that would ban use of the term 'illegal alien' and replace it with 'illegal immigrant' on official forms. The word 'alien' should be reserved for those from "outer space" Senator Fredricka Wilson said.
The big kicker about her bill is that there is no penalty attached to it. Useless laws. How much taxpayer money is she spending to get this changed, and how much taxpayer money would be spent reprinting every official document that uses the term illegal alien. Surely a Florida Senator has more important social issues that she should be concentrating on.
I guess that this is in keeping with Democratic Party attitudes that illegal immigrants should be given a free ride in this country. Indeed, when asked about the term 'illegal', she said she "likes the term undocumented better."
If you don't believe that Democrats want to make it easier for illegals to be here, her latest 'alien' legislation was the result of hearings she held on a bill she sponsored trying to make it easier for foreign born students to be eligible for in-state tuition at universities and colleges.
That doesn't make sense for America does it?

I cross ocean, poor and broke,
Take bus, see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there,
Say I need go see Welfare.
Welfare say, "You come no more, We send cash right to your door."
Welfare checks, they make you wealthy,
Medicaid it keep you healthy!
By and by, Got plenty money,
Thanks to you, TAXPAYER dummy.
Write to friends in motherland,
Tell them 'come, fast as you can'
They come in turbans and Ford trucks,
I buy big house with welfare bucks.
They come here, we live together,
More welfare checks, it gets better!
Fourteen families, they moving in,
But neighbor's patience wearing thin.
Finally, white guy moves away, .. I buy his house, and then I say,
"Find more aliens for house to rent." In my yard I put a tent.
Send for family they just trash, ... But they, too, draw welfare cash!
Everything is very good, Soon we own whole neighborhood.
We have hobby it called breeding, Welfare pay for baby feeding.
Kids need dentist? Wife need pills? We get free! We got no bills!
TAXPAYER crazy! He pay all year, To keep welfare running here.
We think America darn good place! Too darn good for white man race.
If they no like us, they can scram, Got lots of room in Pakistan.
Name a politician that says we need to close the border!!

A Gathering of Eagles
On March 17th, a liberal, celebrity-studded and anti-war gathering will take place again in DC, with the intent of marching on all of the Nation's war memorials enroute to the Pentagon. Their objective is the dismantling of America's military, our immidiate surrender in Iraq and Afghanistan, the closure of detention centers like Guantanamo Bay, and the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
The last time Hollywood celebrities/anti-war/hippie/aging protester/peace-loving crowd got together for a "peaceful" government protest, rocks were thrown at a Dupont Circle military recruitment center and a FOX News van, vandalized the Lone Sailor Statue at the US Navy Memorial and spray painted symbols all over the Capitol Building.
The Gathering of Eagles is an organization of patriots who are dedicated to ensuring the "war memorials are sacred ground; as such, we will not allow them to be desecrated, used as props for political statements, or treated with anything less than the solemn and heartfelt respect they–and the heroes they honor–deserve." They have called a gathering around the Memorials in the Nation's Capitol to ensure that what happened last time doesn't happen this time.
The incident at the Capitol Building was allowed to happen by Capitol Hill Police Chief Phillip Morse when he ordered police officers to retreat and allow protesters to paint graffiti on the Capitol, which is against federal law.
Democratic Response- Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, said she doesn't want to get critical on Morse's "judgement when he ground and I wasn't. There's a balance that they have to strike. It's a very difficult job."
Republican Response- Senator Wayne Allard, Colorado Republican, expressed loud disapproval saying, "I am disgusted by these actions, and the lack of efforts to protect public integrity. I am absolutely dismayed by the vandalism and the blatant disregard for public property that occured at our Nation's Capitol this weekend."
You tell me, which makes more sense for our country?

Al Gore....Do As I Say Not As I Do
You would expect a person who places himself in the international spotlight on one side of an issue to actually believe in what they are saying. Especially if that person is a former Vice President of the United States. On second thought, that may be too much to expect from a professional politician, and a Democrat, trying to get back in the big house.
Al Gore would have everyone in the country reduce their consumption of energy in their homes. So much so that he made a documentary about it. He also made a ton of money and even won an academy award!
Now it comes to light that the big Gore mansion in Nashville, Tn is not quite an economical user of energy, and not the friend to the environment that Gore purports to be. Hypocrisy.
Another professional politician telling us to do one thing, to his financial gain, and doing the exact opposite himself. Voters need to take a hard look whether a politician really has America's best interests at heart.

Parents Have No Rights In Massachusetts
A federal judge, appointed for life, has declared that government schools have the obligation to teach elementary school children to accept and endorse homosexuality, whether that is what parents wish or not.
The case came to Judge Mark Wolf's courtroom via a civil rights lawsuit brought by David Parker and Joseph Wirthlin, whose children were in the classroom. Their main argument that the schools had a legal requirement to notify parents if subjects like these were to be taught in the class, so they could withdraw their children if they chose to. Massachusetts law says the schools are required to provide notification. M.G.L. c. 71, s32A.
Wolf ruled that normalizing homosexuality to small children is "reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy." What does that mean? Being gay is a prerequisite for being a productive member of democracy??
At the core is the bigger issue of parental rights over state rights in raising children. Judge Wolf would have the law say that the state is responsible, and has an obligation, for teaching your children what is moral. Basically, this is what the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is going to teach your kids. If you don't like it he said, send your kids to private school, home-school your kids, or elect a majority of people to the School Board who agree with you.
The judge went further, saying that even if you espouse Christian beliefs that don't approve of homosexual lifestyles, you still DO NOT have a reasonable expectation to withdraw your child from classes that teach acceptance of it. I would think that a parent could choose what their children learn about lifestyles in this country.
This same thing happened in April of 2005, and the Governor Mitt Romney agreed with Parker then. Keep a close eye out for what Romney says now that he is a big Presidential candidate.
Lawyers defending the school, said that parents do not have the right to control what ideas the school teaches their children. I thought as ones who pay for the school through taxes, we do. I guess not in Massachusetts.
My first thought was to pull the kids and place them in a Christian private school. And I would still do that, but allowing the systematic and state sponsored teaching of homosexuality as a normal lifestyle and legitimizing the right and duty of the state over parental rights should not go unchallenged. Long have groups around the country, and the world, tried to diminish and marginalize the Traditional values and Christian principles this country was founded on. This is another shot at the same and needs to be publicly challenged.
The following groups are among the leaders in this effort: the ACLU, Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders, National American Man-Boy Love Association, the Human Rights Commission, and the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
Let's see which politicians come down on the side of the parents and Traditionalist values.

Are Politicians Protecting Children or Predators
Virginia has become the latest battleground in the effort to protect America's children from predatory sex offenders. The head of the Virgina ACLU has been charged with possessing child pornographic videos and has sparked wide debate about what should be done with sexual predators.
I don't see how there is a debate. Any kind of sexual crime, towards adults or children, should be a capital offense on the first conviction, and should incur mandatory capital punishment. If you get caught and convicted, then you get one appeal. Found guilty after the appeal, and you are executed one week later so we can be sure you do not ruin another innocent young life.
It has long been conventional wisdom that treatment for sexual predators is ineffective. So why place the burden on taxpayers to support them while they serve life sentences. Capital punishment for completely ruining someones life in a horrible way should be mandatory. Judges around the country are failing in their responsibilities, giving light or sometimes no jail time at all.
Stephen Benjamin, a Virginia lawyer on the board of the National Association of Defense Attorneys, disagrees and points out the losses of the people who are convicted of raping children, saying, "I don't know that increased punishment is the answer. The sheer exposure and conviction are life-ruining events. Careers are ended. Licenses are lost. Families are lost."
Exposure and conviction at a trial where you are found guilty of raping young children ruin your life....too bad. You have lost the privilege of walking freely through our society. What about the children whose lives are ruined. Why should a convicted child rapists get to enjoy baseball games and watch TV and walk on the beach if they want. Why should you get to enjoy the rest of your life? Those who 'just look at child porn' are no better, as such behavior will eventually lead to physical acts. I guess if you get caught molesting kids, call Stephen Benjamin.
Get involved, see if your elected officials are protecting children or sex predators. Six Colorado Democrats are protecting the predators...Terrance Caroll, Mike Cerbo, Andy Kerr, Rosemary Marshall, Claire Levy, and Morgan Carroll. These politicians have represented the will of the Colorado people to let convicted sex offenders move freely through their society.
See what yours are doing.
